Multi-Agency Hamilton Demo Day
Overview
Wilfrid Laurier University will be hosting a multi-agency Mental Health Crisis Response (MHCR) Demo Day to provide Ontario police services with an in-depth understanding of the MHCR rollout and the supporting VR platform.
This information session taking place at Hamilton Police Services will describe the MHCR program legislated in Ontario Training Regulations (O.Reg 87/24, sec. 6,7) of the Community Safety and Policing Act (2019) and how VR or live action scenario-based delivery can be used to support providing this training at your police service.

30-Minute Presentation about the MHCR Program: Overview of the MHCR program presented by two members of the MHCR Team (Dr. Jennifer Lavoie, Wilfrid Laurier University, and Dr. Lisa Whittingham, Brock University). VR Demonstration presented by Pete Wiesner from SSVR.
10-Minute Demonstration of a MHCR VR Scenario: Live demonstration of the MHCR scenario
10-Minute Q&A: Opportunity for attendee questions.
VR Platform Demonstration: Hands-on experience with VR capabilities, presented across two stations.

To reserve two (2) spots for your agency's in-class session, please email the MHCR team at by January 29, 2025, with your preferred registration time (9:30 AM or 1:00 PM). Please include the names and contact information of those attending. One of our team members will respond to your email request. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis for both sessions. If you are unable to make this information session, please note that we are planning for another information session in Toronto in February. More details to come. Spots are available on a first come first serve basis.
